Well, things are getting real, real fast. I submitted all my leave papers at work and loaded up on my travel shots today. Sunday, I am off to Ottawa for three days of Cuso skills and safety training.

I’ve been busy making lists and getting documents together and certified to be able to move countries. I am looking forward to meeting other volunteers in Ottawa, learning more about my placement and Cuso International.

The not-for-profit and international development world are both new areas for me. As part of my 10-month volunteer placement in Saint Lucia, I am required to fundraise $2000 to support the work of volunteers like myself around the world. The donations help Cuso International cover the costs associated with sending skilled professional volunteers where they’re needed most.
